Global outreach

EVBC recognizes the great privilege and honor that we have in the gospel.  We also understand the need for the Good News to travel both across the street and around the world.  Because of these convictions we are committed to missions through

Prayer, Giving, and Going.

Below are several of our current missions opportunities:

Baptist Children's Home

If you feel led to give to North Carolina's Baptist Children's Home please make the check out to Elkin Valley Baptist Church and write on the memo "Baptist Children's Home."  This is a ministry that provides safe, caring homes for children in NC.

Borderland Reach - Texas

In 2016 a mission team from EVBC joined up with the Borderland Reach in the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas.  The purpose of our involvement was to actively share the gospel and support brand new church plants in a spiritually dark area of the U.S.  We are planning on continuing our involvement with this project in 2017.

Good Shepherd Clinic - guatemala

The North Carolina Baptists have a missions partnership in Guatemala.  For about 5 years our church has sent teams to assist in the mission work being done in the rural communities of Guatemala surrounding the Good Shepherd Clinic.  This is a ministry that runs an orphanage, medical and dental services, church planting, and much more!

Graffiti Church - Baltimore

Baltimore is one of the focus cities that the North American Mission Board is strategically reaching with the gospel.  Our church recently established a partnership with a brand new church plant and church planter in East Baltimore.  Our church adopted Charlie and Dianne Brown as OUR missionaries to Baltimore.  We support them through our prayers, gifts, mission trips.  Anyone wishing to give individually to the Baltimore Graffiti Church may do so by making the check ot to Elkin Valley Baptist Church and writing in the memo line or on the envelope "East Baltimore Graffiti Church."

Internation Mission Board (IMB)

In addition to the Cooperative Program (of the Southern Baptist Convention) giving, our church gives a designated gift to the IMB.  We also take up a special offering at Christmas (Lottie Moon Christmas Offfering) that directly supports missions througout the world.

North American Mission Board (NAMB)

Our church believes in the church planting strategy that NAMB is using to impact the urban areas of North America.  We support this work through an annual Easter offering (Annie Armstrong Easter Offering) and through active involvement in church planting.

Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Giving

As cooperating and supportive Southern Baptists we give 10% of our annual, undesignated budget to the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention.  These monies support missions in our state, nation, and the world.

The Jesus Film

Our church committed to raise funds for a translation of the JESUS Film to be made for the "Mountain People" in the Middle East.  Our missionaries currently have no resources in the heart language of the people they are trying to reach.  Your gifts will begin the process of translating the gospel for a people who have never heard the good news in their own language.  The goal is $19,000.  We are well on our way to reaching this goal.  We will accept gifts towards this project now thru February 2018.  You can make a designated gift by marking your check or envelope as "Jesus Film."
